In addition to our client services we also have a few products in the works. Our office is always filled with chatter and this blog is an outlet for our creative energy, rants and ideas.

Imulus built a task management solution that finally works for teams. It's a life saver, learn more at usestacks.com.
Like many of you, I love whiteboards and the collaborative aspect of quickly jotting down ideas on what feels like a large napkin at breakfast. Recently, we moved into a new office and the whiteboard just didn’t look that nice on our new walls. We decided to opt for steel sheets rather then whiteboards. The Home Depot sells 24 x 36 inch sheets for $7 a piece. They look better then whiteboards and they give you the added benefit of using magnets for posting material in a collaborative space.
The other day I was searching for a used 1U server for use in our development environment. Since I no longer like eBay, my new path for locating used items is Craigslist. I found several servers in the Denver area however I was too late and the servers had already sold. That’s when I began to think I needed a tool to monitor Craigslist.
At lunch today I told the gang that I’d like us to create a simple monitoring tool which checks Craigslist every hour or so for changes under the region / topic I’m interested. The tool would send me an email once a change was posted.
Tonight, I found my tool. I guess there isn’t a need to recreate the wheel. Here’s Craigslist Watch.
Recently I was just introduced to single use credit cards, apparently they’ve been around for sometime but they are new to me. A single use credit card can be used for online purchases where you are unsure as to the integrity of the website. Rather then repeating the information on these sites I’ll just send you over.
Our client, MetroDenver Economic Development Corporation recently assembled an excellent video showcasing the strength of Colorado’s aerospace industry.
I’ve now been using SantexQ beta for 24 hours and thus far, pretty darn good for beta and all-in-all a useful tool. I was introduced to SantexQ by one of the comments posted by a reader of our BaseCamp article. The comment couldn’t of come at a better time. We are currently working on our own task management program developed around the way we work. We are developing it out of a need to replace BaseCamp (we’ve outgrown it’s use) and to offer yet another program for task management.
Pros:
I like the overall organization of the system and how it places tasks at the center of the project management process. It is easy to setup and start using. In under 15 minutes I added our team, a few clients and a handful of tasks. Best of all the system is free. I hope it stays that way.
Cons:
The date selector on tasks didn’t allow me to directly enter the date, I was forced to use the calendar tool instead. I feel like the task add page could have been shortened up if organized more efficently and I also wasn’t a fan of the fact it required me to add various fields, like a description. In some instances, a subject is sufficent enough.
I didn’t look at the tool’s billing / time-tracking features because we use ClickTime, and that product is hands down the best tool for time-tracking.
I certainly encourage our readers to give it a try, especially since it’s free.
