A few weeks back I was introduced to ReInvigorate web statistics, a (currently) free service for tracking website metrics. I’ve used most of the major web statistics tools including Google Analytics, Urchin, WebTrends and ClickTracks, but ReInvigorate is different. What strikes you at first when using the system is the simplicity of the interface and the organization of content. The overall system is presented in a clean and logical layout and it’s impossible not to notice the “Web 2.0″ look of the site.

I like how the system doesn’t “assume” how I want my data. Each chart has several options to select from, linear, parabolic, and polynomial. To really showcase the variations I’ve assembled this collage of images to showcase the ways to view “Page Views for March 29th, 2007″.
Not eveything in ReInvigorate is drastically different from other packages, but then again it doesn’t need to be. However, the Visitor Detail / Timezone implementation is pretty extraordinary. ![]()
With this visual overlay I can clearly see the geographic origin of traffic to our site as well as what time of day seems to be the most active for us.
Unlike Google Analytics and WebTrends, ReInvigorate lets me get down to user level grainularity but looking at individual session paths in great detail.

With this level of information I can see each individual user, where they came from, their IP address and the path they took once they hit the site.
One of th unique features is the ability to tag sessions with meaningful name. For instance I could tag this session, 71.141.106.228 with the name Joe Smith, giving me a way to quickly sort out the users I want to track.
I love this package, but it is a beta and has a few limitations. I encourage everyone interest in web statistics to sign-up and give it a try for yourself.
