NetFlix Drag & Drop Ordering

In the last few weeks NetFlix has quietly added the ability to drag & drop the ordering of your movie queue. I inadvertently stumbled on the functionality while working on my queue. In our office of techies only 1 other person knew the functionality existed. There are likely many others out there that are unaware that NetFlix has this useful functionality.

My recommendation to NetFlix, add a DRAG icon within each row. This would give an indication to the user that drag & drop functionality is present and it would give them a target to drag when they want to re-arrange their queue.

You know, I find it interesting that this solution still hasn’t been implemented for the Safari 2 or 3 web browser.

The drag and drop function was promoted by NetFlix when they initiated it a few months. The first time I tried it in queue, I enjoyed the ease and funtionality. The old way was cumbersome and time consuming. Within seconds I had my queue set up to just the way I wanted. Also, I am more likely to use it when my wife changes my mind. Truly, this is “added value” to their website.
